ART DECO CHINOISERIE CHINA CABINET BREAKFRONT SECRETARY/DESK. This piece is an original not a reproduction.

This beautiful rare Art Deco period cabinet is hand painted and trimmed with gold leaf paint. The period cabinet comes in two pieces. The upper portion has nine bubble window panes, three doors, all doors have locks and three glass shelve with plate groves behind each door. The back wall is covered in a gold cloth like material.

The top half is slightly recessed. The bottom part of the cabinet begins with one large center drawer flanked by 2 side drawers. The center drawer pulls down to reveal a leather surface writing desk with organizer cubbies. Open or closed it's a classic addition to the standard Chinoiserie Asian cabinets. Beneath the draws and the desk are three large storage cabinets with shelves.

Each of the doors have huge brass Foo Dog handles and continues with the bamboo painted pattern. The cabinet is in excellent vintage condition and has wear consistent with age, use, and relocation. The most notable wear is to the brass of two of the Foo Dogs and specific wear of black lacquer & gold paint. These issues have been highlighted in the photos.

Remember this is piece is more than 80 years old from the 1940's. Adjustments have made in the price. Wood, Lacquer Paint, Gold Leaf Paint, Brass Fittings, Fabric Interior, Leather. 81" X 60" X 18" X 14".
