This arts and crafts era piece has two doors with a lock and a skeleton key. The left hand door has a latch inside which hooks to the second shelf from the top.Inside, there are four removable shelves which have grooves for displaying plates. Overall, the cabinet has a simple design, with some vertically ribbed or reeded details. The height is about 60 1/8 inches. The width and depth at top is approximately 44 1/4 inches by 16 1/4 inches.
This would be a great addition to a mission bungalow decor. Identification This unsigned piece is circa early 20th century.
Condition The cabinet looks very good overall. It was refinished before I acquired it. It has been recently waxed. There are scattered, small edge nicks.
The reeded edge detail to the bottom of the door has a small broken off piece (about 3 3/4 inches long; shown in Photo 10). The key works in the lock, but you have to wiggle it a bit towards the top of the lock to engage it. There is minor wear, including small stains, marks, and slight fading; the shelves have scattered, minor scratches from use.
The back has some minor, tight splits to the wood. Payments must be received within three days of the end of the listing, unless prior arrangements have been made.
