Here is a beautiful antique quarter-sawn oak 60 drawer card catalog cabinet. This stunner proudly sports the tag of the LIBRARY BUREAU SOLE MAKERS of Cambridge, Mass. The company operated under different names until it became Library Bureau in 1881. The cabinet is structurally sound and in very good overall condition. The wonderful brass hardware has a nice patina that looks great against the quarter-sawn oak.
All the drawers slide easily. The drawer section which also has 3 pullout work surfaces is separate from the four-legged base.
Hat looks like a scratch on the left side is just a rub from something that had white paint on it. I didn't have anything with me to polish it off when I took the pictures. There is also a photo of the nice original card supports - all of the drawers have them except 5. The cabinet stands 60" high x 42 1/2" wide x 16 1/2 deep and weighs approximately 200 lbs. These wonderful cabinets are getting hard to find. They make a statement in any room and are excellent for storage of collections and other items.
