This 1950s gem was manufactured in Indiana by the Jasper Cabinet Co. It is made completely of mahogany and features a double-door breakfront books case that rests atop a Winthrop style dropfront desk.
It is done in a Colonial Revival style with emphasis on its classical design features like the serpentine front, ball-and-claw feet, fretwork, and demilune sunburst on the inner secretary cabinet. One very desirable feature is the Depression Era style cubbbies that flank the inner cabinet. There two removable/adjustable shelves in the breakfront, with about six total positions. The double doors are a key and latch system - the main lock on the right hand door opens the first door and then on the second door's upper, inner side door is a flip latch that releases it. There are four standard sized desk drawers beneath the drop front desk surface.
Each is featured with a working lock and double antiqued brass drawer pulls. It measures 79" high (with twist finial), 29" wide, 17 deep.
It weighs approximately 50-75 lbs. This item is in excellent condition, though with the typical signs of wear from age and use. Please consult images and message with any questions.
