This is a unique early 1900s Medical Cabinet, made by Scanlan Morris Co. In Madison Wisconsin, a company widely known in their time for quality medical equipment. Logo for company is located inside on the back wall.
Cabinet is metal, with all original glass. There are two very tiny chips noted, one on each of the lower two glass shelves. All glass is otherwise clean and has no cracks. The top of the cabinet is porcelain and removable. The cabinet features a lower open shelf , supported between cabriole-style legs, and original castor wheels. Aside from the lock, which would need to be replaced (a modern lock had been placed where the original lock was), all hardware is original. Door hinges work well, as do the hook locks located inside the left door on top and bottom. There appears to be openings that possibly held rubber door stops (similar to the hardware holding the glass shelves) on the front of the cabinet. The cabinet has shelving paper on the lower open shelf, and also inside the cabinet, which can be removed.
The metal appears to have been painted a couple times, and is chipping but could easily be stripped or restored. The cabinet measures approximately 49.5 inches tall, 28.5 inches wide (32 inches at widest point on legs), and 16.5 inches deep (18 inches at widest point on legs). Photos are provided for you to study carefully. The item "Antique Vintage Early 1900s Scanlan Morris Co. Medical Cabinet Glass Metal RARE" is in sale since Sunday, August 14, 2016.
