Each drawer snaps and locks into place for a very stable cabinet many vertical configurations. They do not lock in a horizontal position. Each drawer: 26.5" long x 10.5" wide x 10 tall. A little surface rust, some loss of finish, typical moderate to heavy useage. Drawers are a bit screechy when opened, needs a little lubricant.
