Antique PA Dutch Pine 12-Pane Flame Grain Painted 2-Piece Flatback Cupboard, Ca. We are extremely pleased to offer this circa 1860s Pennsylvania Dutch 12-pane flame grain painted two-piece pine flatback, stepback cupboard which is 83 tall. Dimensions: 37 1/2" tall, 52" wide, 17 3/4 deep.

Pie Shelf: 18 3/4" deep, 52 1/4" wide. Exterior Finish: Red and black flame grain painted bottom doors, drawers and sides. Hinges intact and latch works. Dimensions: 45 3/4" tall, 11 1/4" deep, 48 1/4 wide. 2 Doors, each with six panes of wavy glass, one pane cracked. Interior: Salmon colored, three shelves, curved spoon rack and plate rail across top shelf, and rear plate rail on each shelf. Exterior Finish: Deep red and black cornice and flame painted sides, salmon-colored doors.

From an external side view, it appears that the top of the cupboard lays flat on the bottom of the cupboard. Actually, the top is pegged into the bottom of the cupboard from the interior. What is not seen from the exterior of the cupboard are the four short legs (two on each side of the top) which fit into the four rectangular openings on the top board of the cupboard's bottom. Each leg has a vertical rectangular groove. Once the legs are placed in the rectangular openings, the top is secured from the interior of the cupboard's bottom with two large sturdy tapered wood latches.

A latch is positioned on each side through the vertical rectangular groove of each of two legs. Damage to the left rear foot of the cupboard's top is concealed once the top is positioned over the cupboard's bottom. Condition: This gorgeous solid cupboard has a fantastic flame grain painted finish which exhibits some cosmetic wear appropriate to the cupboard's age. The hinges and latches work. All glass panes are present and only one is cracked.

The original bun feet are present. The rear left foot of the cupboard's top half is damaged.

While some of the rear plate rails are damaged, they may still be used. Please use the photos to assist you in determining if the condition of this wonderful cupboard meets with your approval.
