This is an antique 31 drawer quarter-sawn tiger-oak Library Card Catalog / office filing cabinet made by "YAWMAN and ERBE MFG Co" in the early 20th century. This spectacular, beautifully proportioned six piece. Cabinet has been restored to its former glory - the beautiful, richly figured oak gleams with a hand-rubbed oil finish. When we found this amazing piece it badly needed some TLC so we carefully disassembled and cleaned it, repaired its broken parts, and gave it a deep durable surface. 18" deep, by about 43" tall and has a great configuration.
A sturdy base section provides stable footing. A slim top section with graceful moldings featuring the. YAWMAN and ERBE makers tag crowns the cabinet.The other four parts can sit in any order - a section of twelve open letter-size cubbies, two sections of five standard 3" x 5" drawers, and a wonderful section of fourteen flat file drawers is made up of seven narr. Ow ones on the left and seven double width drawers on the right. The dove-tailed drawers are all lockable.
Drawers work smoothly and sport beautiful brass pulls. All in all, a superb, unusual Oak Cabinet that is useful and a great addition to your decor. The unit weighs approximately 110 lbs.
