With a whale tail shaped backboard and a hole for hanging, coupled with a single solid board back with early nail construction, we have a scarce object made of a fast-depleting wood. Most walnut for mass production in the US is used up by 1885. After this oak and poplar are used more frequently. The finger jointed drawers with little to no nails are enhanced with metal knobs.
Note, one knob is a replacement and slightly different. The condition of the cabinet is excellent.
It stands 16 3/4" high and is 10 1/2" wide. In my opinion this is a wonderful example of bench made (homemade) carpentry for domestic use.
