Antique Amberg's Imperial Oak Letter File Cabinet, 30 Drawer, circa 1890's

  

A wonderful thirty drawer cabinet in oak labeled on the top front "Amberg's Cabinet Letter File" with interior labels which read "Amberg's Imperial Letter File" by the Amberg Letter & Index Co, London, New York, Chicago, originally patented in 1876, with subsequent patents to follow. Each drawer is removable with shaped guides and oval front slots for labeling. There are two pull-out oak slides about halfway down the piece. The cabinet is in very good overall condition. There is a piece of wood missing on the backside of the top, and the wood is missing from the bottom right side, both easily repairable.

There are some partial labels visible in most drawers, some loose drawer guides and some light interior soiling. It could use a good cleaning and polish. Dimensions: 75.25 in H x 31.25 in W x 13.25 in D. A great piece to organize collections of smalls or ephemera.
