THE GLASS SHELF INSIDE THE GLASS CASE IS PROBABLY AN OLDER REPLACEMENT. THERE IS A PIECE OF TRIM MISSING ON BOTTOM OF GLASS DOOR. SHOULD BE AN EASY REPLACEMENT TO DO.
THE GLASS IS SOLID IN THE FRAME. THE NEXT CABINET WHICH IS IDENTICAL TO THE FIRST IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION SHOWING IT'S ORIGINAL FINISH NEVER BEING RESTORED. THERE IS A REPAIR AT THE RIGHT FOOT AND WHOMEVER DID THE REPAIR PLACED THE COLUMN UPSIDE DOWN. THE GLASS SHELF IS MISSING, A PANEL IS ALSO MISSING ON THE SIDE WHICH COULD EASILY BE REPLACED. THE CURVED GLASS IS NO MORE AND WAS REPLACED (QUITE WELL DONE) HEAVY CURVED PLASTIC.OVERALL WITH SOME LIGHT PRESERVATION IT COULD EASILY LOOK AS GOOD AS IT'S TWIN. IT IS STILL VERY NICE. IN ADDITION TO THE RARE PAIR TAKE A LOOK AT ALL THE AREAS FOR DISPLAY, THE SHELVES ARE WELL SECURED AND NO ISSUES NOTED. THIS PAIR OF UNUSUAL CABINETS WERE FOUND IN A LARGE VICTORIAN HOME IN OHIO WHERE THEY WERE HOUSED FOR MORE THAN 80 YEARS, I BOUGHT THEM DIRECTLY FROM THE FAMILY.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST. AS NOTED BOTH CABINETS HAVE THEIR ORIGINAL FINISH WHICH HAS TURNED A PLEASING MATTE TYPE SHEEN, I HAVE ONLY LIGHTLY CLEANED THEM AND WITH SOME CARE THE ORIGINAL FINISH COULD EASILY LOOK EVEN BETTER.
