For sale is a beautiful large size vintage antique Hamilton Printers Type 30 Drawer Oak Wood Flat File Map Blueprint Art Cabinet. This type of cabinet was originally used by printers to store metal type. Each drawer would contain one font in one size.

All the drawer pull hardware is there and very ornate and in great condition. The pulls appear to be made of a cast material.

Terrific craftsmanship, all the drawers slide nicely in their tracks with minimal binding. Currently stored on a pallet in a cool dry warehouse. Age was estimated at being from the 1800's but that is a guess. We did as much research as we could on this cabinet before listing and found only one similar but about 2/3 the size.

There are only 11 of the original brass label plates still on 11 of the drawers, this means 19 are missing. These plates are located on the drawer face, to the right of the drawer pull as you face the cabinet. The top may need refinishing depending on your re-use.

A piece of the top (right front as seen from the front) was broken and re-glued. A small piece is missing on the rear right side near the top. A piece of the lower left side rear also broke off at some point in the past. None of these blemishes affect the operation of the cabinet.

The cabinet measures 35.5" wide x 19" deep (center)/23 deep sides x 53.75 tall. The cabinet is a single piece unit and consists of 15 drawers in the upper part and 15 drawers below.

The inside of each drawer measures 30.5" wide x 15" deep x 1 high. Every drawer was pulled out and inspected and all appear to be solid and in very good clean condition. Due to travel restrictions we can only deliver within NY State NOTE.
