This is a great cabinet. Style of Hoosier or Minnesota Cabinet. This cabinet was found in Kentucky.
It was in a home owned by a brother and sister. They said they could not remember NOT having this cabinet.
Their mom used it and they did not know how long it had been in the family. The brother was 78 at this time. They still cooked on a wood burning stove when we got this cabinet. The sister became ill and had to be moved so the brother decided to sell everything and the house. We were fortunate enough to get this awesome cabinet. We at the time were restoring a 200 year old log cabin and I-knew this would be perfect!!! 1st picture is in that cabin!! This cabinet is ANTIQUE and NOT perfect. However for those of us that appreciate the history : you will love every inch of it. This is how we found it. The only thing we have done is clean it with a good quality wood oil.We also repaired the bottom Right front of the decorative curve (picture) where a piece of the decor skirting was loose. It is a warm Oak ; the knobs are the knobs that were on the cabinet when we acquired it.
All of the knobs work, however 2 of the hooks on the doors are no longer there. We have never tried to replace. The glass jar in the cabinet is also original to the cabinet. Again it is as we received it.
The back on the top appears to be newer, We figured someone had replaced it before we received it. I still love this cabinet, but I have no place to use or display any longer since we have moved to a different state with different decor. It has taken me 5 years to decide to put this on the market. This cabinet has 2 main wood pieces. The bottom cabinet is attached to 4 wooden small wheels. The work area between is zinc.
The upper part sits right on top of zinc wirk board. They are detachable and are put together by a wood board on the side(pictured). Again original to when we received this cabinet. The size of the cabinet is as follows.
The zinc work area is 391/2 wide. The bottom cabinet is; 29 1/4. Tall To bottom of wheels 30 1/2. THIS CABINET IS LOCAL PICK-UP ONLY!!! THIS CABINET IS LOCAL PICK -UP ONLY!!! Please do not hesitate to call for more pictures or questions. This is a really cool cabinet and I know someone will love it as much as we have.
