Alvar Aalto solid birch cabinet, Finmar 1934, sideboard, glass doors, midcentury

  
Extremely rare and very beautiful Alvar Aalto birch sideboard, made in 1934 and imported by Finmar. It's in two parts; a solid birch base with sliding doors and a cupboard that sits on top with glass sliding doors. In stunning condition for its age; there are various small marks and some very light scratches to the cupboard door that can be polished out. The only flaws are an area of scratching to the top of the lower cabinet (this is hidden by the upper cabinet but can be refinished) and a miniscule chip from tbe inside edge of one of the sliding glass doors, not noticeable unless looking (please see pic of glass close-up).

There is a tiny amount of green paint on the lower frame that can be sanded off. A metal shelf peg from the upper cabinet needs replacing. The drawers are spotless inside and the overall look is immaculate. Please ask if you would like further pictures or details.
