Antique Watchmaker's Parts Cabinet & Contents Roskopf Movement c. 1900 Rae

  
A superb early 20th-century watchmaker's bench-top cabinet, complete with a fascinating collection of original watch parts gathered over many decades. The small wooden cabinet features nine drawers and a lift-up lid containing further divided storage compartments. Inside is an incredible assortment of watchmaker's stock, including movements, dials, balance wheels, gears, springs, crowns, stems and other components. Highlights include Smiths, Services and Cimier dials, an original Swiss container of Roskopf balance staffs and a large early 20th-century Roskopf-type pocket-watch movement. The cabinet arrived with one drawer front missing. I have sympathetically made a replacement using reclaimed timber, colour-matched it and fitted an old metal knob. This is an honest restoration that completes the cabinet without removing its original workshop character. They have not been individually tested or assessed for use, so the collection is offered as an antique display piece, restoration project or source of vintage horological components. The cabinet displays beautifully with the lid raised and the drawers open-a genuine watchmaker's workshop time capsule packed with character and history.
