18th-19th Century 3 Piece English Pine Welsh Dresser With Pot Board And Plate Rack. A Welsh dresser or a china hutch, sometimes known as a kitchen dresser or pewter cup board is a piece of wooden furniture consisting of drawers and pot boards in the lower part with shelves on top. They are generally found in peasant cultures throughout Europe, where they typically take pride of place in the main living area.
Rustic country English pine welsh dresser/cupboard with 4 drawers, a pot board base and upper three shelf dish rack. I don't believe the top trim pieces are original as this piece would probably have been built into the kitchen or scullery area of the home or estate. Age appropriate wear and use. 3 pieces in total measure approximately 90" high by 98 5/8" long by 18 1/2 deep. Top: 98 5/8" long by 64 1/4" high by 9" deep at top trim piece, 6" deep at base, grooves for plates on shelves. Drawer Leg Base: 98 5/8" long by 35 1/2" high by 18 1/2 deep. Dove tailed drawers: 21 1/2" long by 8" high by 16 deep. You might want to build this into a kitchen or add a piece of panel type board at the back of the plate rack to straighten out the shelves. Additionally, you will need to figure out how to attach the plate rack to the drawer unit base or to your wall safely. This item is in the category "Antiques\Furniture\Cabinets & Cupboards".
