One of these is shown taken out of its little hiding spot. Below, the chest section offers practical storage with two short over three long graduated drawers, all oak-lined with hand-cut dovetails and lovely old brass hardware. The whole is raised on bracket feet and is made in two parts for easier moving. The cabinet is veneered throughout in dramatically figured burr walnut, with straight-grained walnut to the sides and door interiors. Centuries of polishing have given the walnut that glowing amber tone collectors love.
This is a serious period piece that works equally well as a statement in a living room, a bedroom clothes press, or even a very chic liquor cabinet. A classic example of late William & Mary / early Georgian English case furniture with fantastic presence and patina. 71.75"H x 49.5"W x 22.5D.
