Antique Library Bureau Sole Maker Furniture Co. 4 Drawer Oak File Cabinet. Circa Early 1900's (Est 1903 to 1910).
Latest Patent date listed is 1903. I was told it was in the Law library for decades. The bottom drawer appears to be a replacement. 51.5" High x 26.75" Deep (with hardware 27.5") x 16.5" Wide. Being an antique/vintage piece it does have wear/tear from use/age.
Please checkout the photos to judge the condition for yourself. As I mentioned above, I believe the bottom drawer to be added later. The sides are an upholstered burlap style material. There is nothing behind the material, it's open, exposing the cabinet frame and drawers.
At one time this was likely part of a large multi-cabinet unit, having additional cabinets at either side. Usually it's 6 or 8 of these cabinets combined with wood sides only on the two exterior cabinets. I believe it was likely separated into individual cabinets when UT no longer needed a very large 42 or so drawer cabinet. That said, it is very solid/sturdy the drawers slide properly and it's overall in great shape.
