These do not come up often and very rarely in this condition. All the original hardware is present with the exception of one upright card slider in one drawer.Extremely rare to have the original drawer pulls, but exponentially more uncommon to have the screw-in card holder poles. Most people removed these when using these pieces for personal use as the poles were obstructive for the casual use of the drawers.
No significant damage; just a couple light scuffs (extremely light), one very faint water mark on the top and a small area of separation of the dovetail on the bottom (see last photo). Nothing that could not be easily repaired or restored if that is your desire. The finish is in great condition with a nice aged patina. The craftsmanship on this piece is phenomenal.Even though this cabinet is approximately 17" x 20" x 17, it weighs nearly 50 pounds; very solid and built to last. All we did is clean the wood and applied a light coat of organic beeswax. Created in Boston, MA, most likely last used commercially in Massachusetts and tucked away for years in Greenville, SC where we found it. Inside the cabinet and under one of the drawers, we found index cards with physician contact information dated in the early 1960's (these will be included). This piece was originally created between 1920 and 1935. With the Library Bureau Company, check out Wiki for some insight.
