ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE WOOD 6 DRAWER 3 X 5 INDEX FILE CABINET TIGER OAK DOVETAILED. Up for sale is this nice six drawer index card file cabinet. This is a nice quality wooden cabinet and it's made from tiger oak with worn / tarnished brass handles. This cabinet is unique in that the drawers lock when closed, until you open the lower right drawer slightly which then releases the lock and the other drawers will open. There's a mechanism inside that releases the other drawers when you open the bottom right drawer.

We're guessing this is probably the last year this was used so we think it's (a lot) older than that! It has a nice dark stain color with a nice patina. The top tiger oak on this cabinet has some writing on it, perhaps in a wax pencil or something. In the back corner, there is a ding where it was dropped.

This raised the dovetails in that area just slightly. The dovetails are also raised just slightly at the front left corner. They are just slightly loose and you might want to glue them if it bothers you but we don't think it will. Overall the cabinet is in good shape for it's age and has a few nicks, dings, marks and scrapes on it as you can see in the pictures. The drawers have the small dovetailed mortises at the front corners of the drawers only.

He drawers all have metal card slides in them. The cabinet has worn spots, edge wear, scratches and nicks. As you'd expect from and item of this age.

The cabinet measures 13" W x 17" D (without drawer pulls) x 13 H. The inside of the drawers will hold a 5" x 8" card horizontally. The cabinet weighs 28 lbs.
