Offering a wonderful antique wood pie safe cupboard. Crafted from poplar with a warm brown stained finish, this cupboard features two 3-paneled punched tin doors above two drawers.
Each side has three round cutouts, covered with interior screening for ventilation. The interior includes three shelves, painted in a creamy white. The cupboard is fitted with brass hinges (possibly replaced at some point), wooden knobs, and a hand-carved twist latch at the top. 58" high to the top, 60-1/2" overall with the top apron. Case: 41-1/2" wide, 15" deep (15-1/2 deep with the top shelf). Doors: 18" x 37" each.
The tin has developed a rich aged patina, while the wood exhibits a deep, warm character that only time can produce. Given its age, it remains in excellent condition, with no breaks or notable issues beyond expected normal wear. Based on construction details, it appears to date to the late 19th century, though this is an estimate. Pick-up only in Doylestown, PA.
